Problems and prospects of blockchain tourism in the regions of Russia (in the Kaluga region)

The paper’s issues relate to the development and usage of blockchain technology in the outdoor recreation industry of Russian Federation regions during the transition to the digital economy. The author examines the main aspects of blockchain technology and analyzes the emergence of the new dApps in the tourism market. The author coins the term "blockchain tourism" to enlighten innovative character of the new services provided due to the application of blockchain technologies in tourism as well as to provide a relevant analytical framework to grasp the basic changes of the tourism and outdoor recreation industry. A special focus was made on the case of "Green Track" project in Kaluga Region as one of the first examples of using blockchain technology in the Russian outdoor industry.
