Problems and prospects of development of small and medium-sized enterprises in the Kyrgyz Republic

Recently, small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) have become one of the most important factors of economic growth and social development of the Kyrgyz Republic. However, despite its importance, SMEs face a number of problems that hinder its further development. One of the main problems is the lack of financing for SMEs. Banks are reluctant to lend to small businesses because of the high risks and small profits. In addition, many entrepreneurs are unable to provide sufficient collateral for the loan. This paper will analyze the main problems and prospects of SME development in the Kyrgyz Republic. For this purpose, both internal factors such as lack of financing, low level of skills of entrepreneurs and administrative barriers, as well as external factors such as political and macroeconomic instability will be considered.
