Problems and prospects of the local self-government in some Siberian regions

The article is based on the materials collected by the author (who was a project supervisor) during the sociological research in the Irkutsk and Transbaikal region, held in October-December 2014. The study was aimed at the exposing of the specificity and peculiar features of the functioning models of the local self-government in Irkutsk and Transbaikal region under the conditions of the reform of this social institute. The research also seeks to analyze occurring changes as well as to make the proposals and recommendations in order to render support for the development and consolidation of the local self-government in the regions.
