Problems and prospects of development of railway transport as the basis of a tourist product in Russia

The article presents the position of railway transport in the share of all tourist traffic, and also shows the dynamics of its use in the framework of domestic rail transport in our country. The prospects for the development of railway transport as the basis of a railway product (tourist product) are considered. The existing and new railway routes implemented by the company are summarized «Russian Railways» in consensus with the state authorities of the regions. The main attractive advantages of the most popular railway routes are described. The main problems of the development of railway tourism, as well as ways to solve them, are also identified. The study revealed a high prospect of positive development of railway routes, as well as an increase in their popularity in the domestic market, and the possibility of introducing special tourist trains from the point of view of high dynamics of passenger traffic in 2020-2023.
