Problems and prospects of trade and economic relations between Russia and China for the subjects of Russian small and medium business

Russian-Chinese foreign trade is experiencing a new period characterized by an increase in foreign trade turnover, which for the first time reached $ 100 billion in 2018, as well as increased cooperation in many international projects within the framework of the “Turning East” strategy and because of Western sanctions against Russia. However, the bulk of exports to China from Russia are energy, while the Chinese are actively promoting their consumer goods and finished products on the Russian market. Chinese small and medium businesses are focused on exporting their products to all countries of the world; for the Russian small and medium businesses, the Chinese market is still unknown. Differentiation of the commodity structure of Russian exports is necessary in order to reduce the raw material orientation of the economy and increase the production capacity and welfare of the population working in the production and trade sphere. The article discusses the main problems faced by the Russian small and medium businesses in the development of trade relations with China, and also identifies ways to solve these problems.
