Problems and prospects of the tourist and recreational potential of the Republic of Crimea

This article is devoted to the study of the problems and prospects for the development of the tourist and recreational potential of the Republic of Crimea. In 2020, the peninsula lost a part of tourists due to the pandemic, but at the same time it was one of the few resort regions in Russia, which, despite the existing restrictions, managed to «replenish the budget» at the expense of the tourism sector. In order to identify the satisfaction of tourists vacationing at the resorts of the Crimean peninsula with the quality of services provided, the authors conducted a sociological study from May to October 2020, identified the existing problems. The developed questionnaire made it possible to assess the level of services provided, to analyze consumer demand and the structure of tourists in the tourism sector, and also to identify problems according to certain criteria. Summing up, we can conclude that despite the existing shortcomings, the peninsula remains attractive for tourists.
