The article defines the role of innovation in small business. The analysis of the problems of small business innovation in Russia, in particular, financing for innovation and promotion. The state programs of support and introduction of innovations in small business in the Russian Federation are considered. For comparison, a system of innovations for small businesses in foreign countries is presented. Tasks are set for further research of the problem under consideration.
