The article analyzes socio-legal aspect of the fatherhood institution in Russia, emphasizing significance of observance of the equal charges and rights of parents regarding children’s upbringing and support. The author studies Russian and foreign laws regulating joint custody and considers guidelines aimed to advance the current laws of the Russian Federation.
