The problems of integration in the global transport space and the fulfillment of transit potential of the country

The article deals with the integration into the global transport space and the fulfilment of the transport potential of the country. The authors examine advantages and disadvantages of various modes of transport, analyse the cargo and passenger transport for the period of 2011-2014. Despite the existing problems in the transport infrastructure, Russia and China plan to revive the Silk Route. This regional integration project involves not only creation of a new Eurasian transportation corridor, but also the significant strengthening of the economic cooperation in the largest continent of the world, which will result in the achievement of the objectives set by the Transport Strategy of the Russian Federation for the period until 2030.
