Problems of using the statistical tools in assessing the development of municipalities

Evaluation of socio-economic development of municipalities is often considered as a task that does not cause methodological difficulties. However, the features of this object make it the subject of special consideration. In this article we attempt to analyze some of the problems of information management of socio-economic development of rural municipalities. There was made the characteristic of the use of municipal statistics data, emerging problems in the monitoring of the processes, the assessment of the economy, socio-demographic structure and the level of provision of the population with the services of the social infrastructure of the region. The specially considered the experience of development of integral characteristics of asymmetry in the development of municipalities of regions.
