The object of this article is problem of increasing the energy of distillation plants with steam compressor (vacuum evaporator plants). Options to improve plant is offered, through a more complete using the energy of steam (in the ideal case, the energy of steam is used only for the evaporation of the source water, and is not spent on its preheating either). Search for hidden heat sources for preheating the source water. The design schemes of pilot plants with various heat supply are given. Alternative ways of increasing energy efficiency are also considered. Conclusions on the choice of the most productive and promising ways to improve the energy efficiency of vacuum evaporator installations were made.
