The issues of ethnic and national identity of Sakha people

The problems of the state national policy implementation in the Russian Federation, both at the federal and local levels, are always a popular subject of scientific studies. The article for the first time attempts to study the political interpretation of the nationalism phenomenon in regard to the Sakha people. During the XX century the Yakut ethnic group was frequently a subject of distortions in the national policy on the part of both central government and local administration.
