The article analyses the relations between the USA and Russia in the period 2000 - 2008. By means of comparative analysis of the strategic concepts of the United States and the Russian Federation in the new century the author tries to explore the meanings of the most important contradictions between the USA and Russia in conditions of socio-political evolution of the states.
