The issues of the written language and of the autonomy of the Tver Karelians’ sub-ethnic community in the first half of XX century

The article discusses a number of issues related to the initial stage of the development of a written language by the Tver Karelians, in the pre-revolutionary and post-revolutionary period. Also, an attempt to consider the establishment of the Karelian National District on the territory of the Kalinin region as the highest point of the evolution of linguistic and ethno-cultural component among the indigenous population of the Tver Karelians is made.
