“Problems of Dostoevsky's poetics” and trends in the development of polyphony in modern prose

The article examines the objective reasons for the emergence and development of the dialogical type of thinking in its relationship with the change of literary eras. It notes the emergence at the stage of functioning of the individual creative type of artistic consciousness of the basic principles of the polyphony, which were discovered by M.M. Bakhtin. It considers the main features of the cultural situation of the 19th century, as well as how they resonate with the specific features of the 21st century culture. It analyzes the works by E.G. Vodolazkin, M.P. Shishkin and V.A. Sharov from the point of view of Bakhtin's theory of polyphony, and notes the integral and individual authorial features of polyphonic storytelling at the present stage of literature development.
