The changing global climate and the frequent droughts are leading to large-scale socio-economic losses: the total damage from the fall of the crop alone amounted to more than 300 billion rubles. High-draught in 2010, in Ulyanov-rural area on 145,6 thousand hectares lost 158 thousand tons of grain. A special problem is the sustainable functioning of agriculture, due to the many climatic risks. To this end, the state of the grain production sector, against the background of the changing climate, is estimated by several economic indicators. The research shows that the area of crops, the use of mineral fertilizers have significantly decreased, agricultural enterprises have become not only financial-soo vulnerable, but also less technically equipped to counter the impact of negative climatic factors. According to the results of this work, conclusions have been prepared that can contribute to the solution of the problem of food security and the use of own resources in the conditions of climate change.
