The Russian Federation guarantees the protection of everyone’s health by criminal law, which provides for liability for crimes that are harmful to health. Crimes that cause harm to health are the most relevant of all types of crimes. In crimes against human health, torture is particularly singled out. Torture is a criminal offence and is punishable by article 117 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. Torture is understood to be the infliction of physical or mental suffering by systematic beatings or other violent actions, if this does not entail the consequences specified in articles 111 and 112 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. This crime is very cruel, our state is fighting this crime, allocating a huge amount of forces and funds for this.
