Problems of radiolucent and radio absorption of ceramic and compositional materials with corundum structure (comparative analysis)

Research results of the crystal structures and radiophysical properties at frequency range 8 - 12 GHz of compositional materials prepared from natural ilmenite and oxide aluminum ceramics with different admixtures are given. X-ray crystal analysis showed that structural type of corundum is predominated in both cases. Strong influence of admixtures on radiophysical properties is discovered that allows to synthesize radiolucent as well as radioabsorptional materials with identical crystal structure.
