Problems of developing entrepreneurial education in Russia and Vietnam

Entrepreneurial education is a new concept of education created and applied since the late 1980s in Western countries. It focuses on developing students ‘ entrepreneurial skills and knowledge about entrepreneurship in order to promote the entrepreneurial competence of young people and, more importantly, to shape their attitude and intention to choose an entrepreneurial career, which will make a significant contribution to the development of the country’s economy. The paper provides a comparative analysis of approaches to the formation of an entrepreneurial ecosystem in Russia and Vietnam. Government support and the involvement of industry, scientific and systematic approach have helped make entrepreneurship education successful in Russia. Vietnam is a new start-up economy, compared to Russia, entrepreneurship began to develop late in Vietnam. But now the development and support of entrepreneurship in Vietnam is a national priority. A national strategic initiative to support entrepreneurship and innovation to stimulate economic growth has been adopted and implemented since 2016. This article reflects the theoretical and practical aspects of entrepreneurial education and research at universities in Vietnam and Russia. Solutions for creating a national innovation ecosystem in Vietnam and enhancing the commercialization of University innovations are proposed.
