Problems of development of the regional service sector in the context of globalization

The article examines the concept of globalization and characterizes the features of its manifestation in the regional service sector. The structure of the modern service sector is considered and the main indicators of its development are analyzed. The content of the factors contributing to the development of the service sector in the regions of the country in the context of globalization is revealed. The problems of the development of Russian regions under the conditions of sanctions restrictions are characterized. The main directions of increasing the competitiveness of the service sector in the context of globalization are substantiated, including its modernization and digital transformation, government support, the development of franchising, the creation of innovation-oriented clusters and the use of a horizontal diversification strategy. Promising directions of scientific research on the problem of the development of service industries in the context of the universal process of globalization are proposed.
