The development problems of the Russian labour market in the transition to the digital economy

The article examines the main employment indicators of the Russian labour market, the prospects for transforming employment in the context of the transition to the digital economy. The paper shows the current problems of the labour market of the Russian Federation and the factors that will change the future. The author notes that the reduction in the number of the gainfully employed population will lead to a decrease in supply on the labour market. It is stated that the Russian labour market is not ready for the transition to the digital economy. Besides, it maintains low employment rates that can affect the country’s competitive position in the future and require the improvement of the labour market regulation mechanisms.
