The problems of higher education development in the Volga region in the late 1950-s - early 1960-s

The article deals with the problems of higher education development in the Volga region in the late 1950s -early 1960s, in particular: drawbacks of training and job placement of young specialists; weak material resources and shortage of the educational space at regional and local higher education institutions; the measures undertaken for resolution of these problems. The author introduces for scientific use some document materials which haven't been reflected yet in the historical researches.
