Problems of the labor market and employment of the population of the Omsk region

The relevance of studying problems in the field of the functioning of the labor market and employment of the population is due to the fact that this area has a direct impact on the quality of life of the population of the region, and during periods of crisis, these issues become even more pressing. This article is devoted to the study of the labor market and employment of the population of the Omsk region. As the main indicators, the level of unemployment, the coefficient of labor intensity, the structure of unemployment in the context of urban and rural areas were studied. The quality of the state policy in the field of employment of the population was assessed through the coefficient of elasticity. As part of the study, a number of problems were identified in the area under study, the main of which are the presence of acute unemployment in rural areas, the lack of awareness of the unemployed, the lack of financial resources for additional measures in the field of employment, and the low level of efficiency in the use of budget funds. Based on the analysis of the problems, recommendations were proposed for their solution. The following can be singled out as the main recommendations: the development of measures of state support for the employment of certain categories of the population, the involvement of the unemployed in public works, the development of information technologies in the field of employment, etc. The implementation of these activities will allow more effective implementation of the state policy in the field of employment in the Omsk region.
