Problems of labour migration and migration policy in Russia

The author analyses the trends, directions and specifics of the labour migration in the national economy. He considers the issues of the national labour market functioning as a significant factor determining the dynamics of foreign labour demand. There are considered the contradictory effects of labour immigration on the labour market and employment sphere, the scale of illegal migration and the structure illegal migrants’ flows, as well as a number of the key issues relating to the state policy in the field of attraction and use of foreign labor. The author proposes recommendations on improvement of the mechanisms for management of labor migration and employment of foreign citizens in solving the social and economic problems of the country.
