Problems of professional rehabilitation and retraining of invalids from work

The paper deals with the socio-economic problems of professional rehabilitation, employment and occupational mobility of people affected by work-connected injuries or occupational diseases. It examines the causes of low economic activity of the invalids from work, the barriers hampering their access to additional vocational education or retraining and reentering the labour market, as well as the factors explaining different attitude of the invalids from work to their employment and education. A special attention is paid to analysis of the impact of the current legislation concerning insurance against the risk of work injury and occupational diseases on the intentions of invalids from work regarding their employment and education.
