Problems in the development of traditional villages in Jiangnan area of China

Jiangnan's traditional villages represent a unique cultural heritage in China, combining architectural traditions, harmony with nature and rich handicraft practices. This article analyzes contemporary challenges to their preservation, including urbanization, environmental threats, and uncontrolled tourism. The study emphasizes the need for a comprehensive approach to the protection of these settlements, proposing measures to restore historic buildings, develop responsible tourism and support local communities. Special attention is paid to the role of public policy and cultural education in the sustainable development of the region. The work is based on the analysis of architectural features, historical context and contemporary challenges facing traditional villages.
