The study considers on the example of Krasnoyarsk Region one of the problems of Russian society - the problem of employment, which is most acutely felt in rural areas. The questions of employment of rural population are raised, the ways of employment of citizens are considered. Ensuring food security, increasing the role in the competitiveness of domestic agricultural sector of the economy in the world food market requires adequate measures to form the basic conditions of consolidation in rural areas and rural population maximum employment.
