The paper deals with the changes in the ethnic culture of the Nanais in the Far Eastern regions of Russia. The Nanais are the indigenous people of the Far East living along the banks of the Amur and its feeders, the Ussuri and the Sungari, in Russia and China. Nowadays, it becomes difficult to reproduce the traditional Nanai culture because of the industrial development processes in the region. The ethnographic studies in this field are of high relevance to the scientific community due to the prospect of preserving the ethnocultural peculiarities of the Nanais and their local groups. The study revealed that their active interaction with other peoples at different historical stages had a strong effect on the Nanai ethnic culture. The paper identified the traits of other cultures accepted by the Nanai ethnic group. For example, it revealed the significant impact of Chinese religions on Nanai shamanism.
