Procedural control and prosecutorial supervision at the stage of initiation of a criminal case: legislative problems and ways of solving them

Introduction: the article analyzes certain challenges that occur in the criminal procedure legislation of the Russian Federation concerning procedural control and prosecutorial supervision at the stage of initiation of a criminal case. Materials and Methods: the methodological basis of the research was made up of methods of synthesis, scientific cognition, logical, comparative legal, as well as other private methods of studying legal phenomena. Results: the article analyzes certain aspects in interaction of the investigator with the head of the investigative body and the prosecutor; based on the analysis of legislative and law enforcement aspects, recommendations for overcoming problems have been developed. Discussion and Conclusions: the authors conclude that the current amendments to the Code of Criminal Procedure are intended to help level out the problems outlined in the article.
