Food security in the system of economic security: historical experience

The paper considers the issues of food security as one of the components of the overall system of economic security. The concept of food security is given, and approaches to defining this approach are considered. The principles of state policy in the field of food security are analyzed. Based on archival documents, individual issues of food security in Western Siberia in the 18th – early 19th centuries are studied in order to determine the possibility of using historical experience in modern conditions. In particular, individual issues of ensuring the safety of finished products at distilleries in Western Siberia are considered. In addition, individual elements of the food security system in the Siberian Cossack Army are analyzed: agriculture, fishing, sheep farming, hayfield lease. The structure of the economic security of the enterprise is considered. Documents confirming the special importance of ensuring food security are studied. Individual issues of process safety at distilleries in Western Siberia in the periods of the 18th – early 20th centuries are studied. Directions of ensuring the economic security of finished products at distilleries are analyzed. A conclusion is made on the possibility of using historical experience in solving individual issues of ensuring food security in the Russian Federation. Particular attention is paid to agriculture in Western Siberia during the 18th and 19th centuries. Agricultural activities such as fishing and livestock farming, including sheep farming, are examined in detail.
