Design of a collision dissociation cell, operating at high buffer gas pressure, is proposed for a tandem time-of-flight spectrometer with a parallel analysis of parent ions. This device was shown to provide the necessary speed of fragmentation and cleaning of the cell, as well as time confinement of the daughter ion packets. Characteristics of ion packets at the exit from the cell are studied.
