Large phased antenna array design as an optimal packing problem

In this work the problem of side lobe suppression in the radiation pattern of phased antenna arrays made of subarrays of irregular shape is faced. An algorithm for optimal packing is used being adapted for antenna array design problem. At the end the results are shown, proving sidelobe level suppression of up to 3 dB.
