Career guidance tourism projects are one of the most effective and accessible tools in the work of local governments to develop the human resources potential of the regions. Working with young people is becoming one of the priorities today. The effectiveness of this work can be traced from the existing results of the implementation of career guidance projects. The article is aimed at study the possibilities of career guidance for schoolchildren as a tool for training and retaining personnel in the region. The work used comparative analysis methods to compare the annual results of a survey of participants in a career guidance project, and a cartographic method for a visual presentation of the distribution of career guidance tourism objects in the region. It was found that career guidance tourism projects can provide a connection between leading enterprises and future employees. As a result of the work carried out, students develop an understanding of the functioning of the labor market and enterprises located in the region, and their understanding of professional opportunities and career growth expands. For potential employers, projects are one of the accessible ways to popularize their activities among young people and provide themselves with human resources in the future. Career guidance tourism projects create favorable conditions for adjusting the level and direction of migration, contribute to the socio-economic and demographic development of both a separate region and the country as a whole. The paper presents the results of the implementation of the career guidance tourism project for schoolchildren in the Kaliningrad region “PRO Opportunities”, implemented by the Ministry of Education of the Kaliningrad region during 2022 and 2023.
