The relevance of the article is determined by the need to research qualitative characteristics of the professional activity of police officers and the issues of vocational training. The author shows that in the modern conditions the systematic improvement of professional and business skills of police officers has become an urgent need of internal affairs bodies for the successful accomplishment of the crime prevention tasks.
