The article examines the basic directions of the Soviet disability employment policy in 1930-ies. The questions of professional-medical selection of disabled people, the results of their employment for specially reserved workplaces, the features of social care of working invalids and pensioners are analysed. According to the author, there was the phenomenon of «socially secured working pensioner» established during that period in the Soviet Union.
