The article deals with the professional self-development of teachers, and describes its forms: self-affirmation, self-perfection, and fulfillment. The resources of online communities for professional self-development of teachers are corroborated. The authors show the value of the functions of network communities (communicative, gnostic, self-presentation) for implementation of the self-development by the teachers.
