The article deals with the problem of professional burnout of a medical professional caused by the impact of the macrosphere and microsphere factors in modern society. The authors conducted a sociological study to determine the reasons for the professional burnout of a physician. It is concluded about the presence of inflated expectations of society from medicine and the underestimation by the society of the difficult working conditions of a doctor. Moreover, there is a substitution of the concepts of the “reasonable risk in the profession” and the “medical crime”. The departmental barriers defended the professional activities of the physicians from charges in the past. However, today their activity is not fully protected by social and legal means. Nowadays, the physician status is reduced that is one of the reasons for burnout of a medical professional. This is facilitated by modern media. The solution of this problem is possible with the help of interdisciplinary and integrated approach, further consolidation of communities of physicians, sociologists and lawyers and their involvement in health care.
