Prevention and treatment of iron deficiency anemia in children

Iron deficiency anemia (IDA) is most common among vulnerable populations such as young children and pregnant women. Globally, an average of 43% of children aged 0 to 4 suffer from IDA. At the same time, children of the first year of life are a special age group in which a rather high risk of developing IDA is due to a number of reasons, both intra- and postnatal anteas.
