Forecasting the bankruptcy of Russian enterprises on the example of industrial enterprises of the Volgograd region

In modern economic conditions, there is an increase in the number of organizations and, as a result, increased competition in almost any segment. This leads to firms becoming more sensitive to changes in market conditions. The article is devoted to issues related to the process of bankruptcy (insolvency) of commercial organizations operating on the territory of the Russian Federation. No company, even in a period of growth, can be completely confident about its future. The problem of forecasting the financial condition of economic entities occupies a special place among practical management problems. In this regard, the need for business entities to continuously analyze the financial condition, as well as the use of various methods and techniques for predicting the probability of bankruptcy in order to prevent adverse development trends comes to the fore. Existing methods of assessing the probability of bankruptcy are far from perfect for various reasons. However, recently, many authors have made attempts to develop new or improve existing methods. Thus, the main purpose of the article is a critical analysis of existing methods for assessing the probability of bankruptcy of enterprises and determining the main problems of their practical application, as well as identifying ways to solve these problems.
