Th. Roosevelt was a successor to A. Lincoln’s traditions and suggested The Square Deal program to the nation - a course of policies which was fair to everyone. He thought that their time had arrived: «the melting pot» of the new American nation combined all the best traditions of immigrants. Roosevelt was an advocate of progressive social changes in all spheres. During his tenure, the land areas of national parks and reserves doubled. It is no coincidence that Americans consider him an outstanding political figure of the 20th century.
