The programs of Khakass cultural heritage preservation and perspectives on development of native art handicraft

We analyzed here the current state of native arts and crafts of the Republic of Khakassia on the ground of authors field data. We focus on the manufacturing of national costume and national ornaments. Author consider the issue of revival and development of traditional arts and crafts in the context of the regional historical and cultural heritage and as a resource for innovative development of tourism, culture and education. The lead center for organization of methodological, informational, expositional work with folk art crafters is the department of the decorative and applied art and visual art in S.P. Kadyshev Republican Center of culture and native art (Abakan). Interview with educators as well as crafters permit to conclude about the main trends in the development of republican arts and crafts. The most prominent and popular art areas are woodcarving, making of national costume, Khakass national embroidery, ceramics, felting, making national souvenir dolls and production of ethnic silver jewelry. The common feature is the orientation to making the souvenir products, reflected the native culture, history and ethnic identity in the region. Under condition of touristic development the national souvenirs aims to be a regional brand. The important event in Khakass folk art is the sewing of national costume and accessories, especially the breast ornament “Pogo ”. As the result of period look, national costume and traditional ornaments increasingly become the part of everyday life, not only the attribute of ceremonial practices. The regional component, based on the study of national art traditions is supported in the system of art and craft specialist training in the Art Institute of N.F. Katanov KSU. The activities of teachers, students and graduates of AI KSU mainly determines the perspectives on the formation of art- aesthetic community in the region.
