Origin and features of use in selection of Holstein sires that made a significant genetic contribution to the herd of Jupiter LLC in the Orel region

In dairy cattle breeding, great role is played by the analysis of genealogical schemes and the formation of parent pairs. The experience of breeding work in one of the reproducers in the Orel region is assessed. It was found that 37 daughters were used in the herd from the sire Makintosh 11011916, 18 from D. Atlantic 498938423, 19 from Optimist 106301320, 37 from Allegro 106303101, 19 from Super 106646040, 103 from Tabun 1277 and 22 daughters from Pledger 62968888. The sires that made a significant genetic contribution to the herd belonged to the lines V.B. Ideal, S.T. Rocket and R. Sovering. A number of sires in the genealogy of the Jupiter LLC herd in 2018-2019 were found in the pedigrees of sires whose semen was used in the breeding farm of the FNC ZBK in 2022-2024. These sires include Shottle 598172 and Atlantic 498938423 in the Starbuck 352790 branch; O Man 122358313, Snowman 388965513, G-Force 533730469, etc. in the Elevation 1491007 branch; Tebo 71922072 in the Tradition 1682485 branch, etc. Some of these sires are found in the genealogy of other herds in the Orel region. In the herd of Jupiter LLC, inbreeding was observed in the degrees II-I, III-I, III-II, II-III, III-III and others for the sires Willis 930769 (V.Willis NL0834961199), G-Force (D.G. Force NL0533730469), Snowman 763950 (F.G. Snowman NL0388965513), Fidelity NL0396647605 O Man (O.B.M. Dzhustik US0122358313), Talentino 39445 NL0470938683, Shottle 598172 GB0000598172, Bredale Goldwin 10705608 CA0010705608 and etc. At the same time, most of the breeding bulls had genetic codes TL TV. In the future, at the level of selection management in the Orel massif of Holstein cattle, it should be taken into account that kinship ties between animals can be traced in herds. In this regard, it is necessary to plan carefully the selection of breeding bulls and not allow close inbreeding.
