Origin of sleep and dreams: problem theoretical overview

A structured review of sleep and dreams study as a complex psycho-physiological process history and current state is presented. It is shown that mainly authors' views clustered around the processes of tonic & activation brain status recovery, learning and information processing, and integration of cognitive and emotional processes.
