Productivity and the use of artificial intelligence

This article addresses the question of whether artificial intelligence (AI) should improve productivity over time. The author notes that labor productivity growth has slowed over the past decade, despite the rapid development of new, efficient digital technologies. Machine learning and artificial intelligence have not been able to achieve the expected results in increasing productivity. A paradox arises: the development of new technologies has not been able to completely transform society and improve people’s lives. The question arises: were hopes for the potential of these technologies misguided? To accomplish this task, various materials, practical experience, and theoretical studies in this area were studied and summarized, which give an idea of the composition of modern technologies related to artificial intelligence. The analysis summarized the data and identified trends specific to this area of research. The scientific novelty of the study lies in the conduct of structural and dynamic analysis taking into account the peculiarities of the formation of labor productivity, which is one of the most important criteria for the development of the state economy as a whole.
