Industrial environmental control of waste production of “Plant of building materials “Siberian ferro-сoncrete factory” LLC

Problems of safe management of production and consumption wastes have been resolved in present - there are legislative, organizational and administrative documents, both at the state and local levels. The imple- mentation of these requirements protects humans to a certain extent from the direct impact of waste. Important role in safe waste management is the organisation and functioning of the system of industrial ecological control at enterprises. The enterprise of “Plant Of Building Materials “Siberian Ferro-Сoncrete Factory” in the city of Omsk may serve an example of it. The principal activity of the company is production and sale of building mate- rials, industrial and civil constructions. Main products are concrete products, commodity concrete, commodity mortar, expanded clay gravel, bricks. As a result of manufacturing activity the plant produces waste ranked haz- ard class five. The bulk of the enterprise’s waste refers to low-hazard and virtually no hazardous waste. To en- sure industrial and environmental safety at the enterprise a system of industrial ecological control is organized, including work on safe handling of waste. During our experiments, it was found that the bulk of non-toxic waste of the company is placed in special landfills for disposal, some wastes such as waste batteries, scrap iron is trans- ferred to secondary use, the company uses the waste of building materials in road construction. To improve the environmental performance of production the company needs to increase the amount of recyclable waste. This requires a series of measures to improve the system of waste management.
