Manufacture of reinforced concrete products in the Baikal region and occupational risks

The construction industry has greatly developed in modern economy. Workforce and equipment are increasingly being attracted; at the same time occupational risks and the level of injuries are growing. According to the Federal State Statistics Service in the construction industry, the share of workers employed in hazardous working conditions is 20.2 % of the total number of workers. Among the construction companies, the manufactures of reinforced concrete products are marked by injuries and hazardous and dangerous working conditions. The article considers the current state of manufacture of reinforced concrete products in the world, in Russia and the Baikal region. The aim of the study is a comparative assessment of the occupational risks at facilities for manufacture of reinforced concrete products in the Irkutsk Region and the Republic of Buryatia. The assessment of occupational risks is carried out in accordance with the requirements of GOST 12.0.230.4-2018 and GOST 12.0.230.5-2018. Three leading enterprises of the Irkutsk Region and Buryatia have been assessed for specific occupational risks (in terms of a thousand tons of shipped products). It has been identified that professional risks of the workers of the main professions of the molding shops are identical and belong to the category of the average ones. The greatest occupational risks are observed at the Selenginsky Reinforced Concrete Factory in the Republic of Buryatia. Practical recommendations to improve working conditions are given.
