Prosecutor's supervision over the implementation of legislation on the prevention of neglect and juvenile delinquency

Introduction: the problem of neglect and juvenile delinquency is one of the socially dangerous and significant problems of modern society. Properly organized supervision in this area is a priority in the work of the Prosecutor’s Office of the Russian Federation. The article deals with the organization of prosecutor’s supervision over the implementation of legislation on the prevention of neglect and juvenile delinquency. Based on the provisions of the current legislation, the main areas of activity are defined and the subjects of the system of prevention of child homelessness, neglect and crime are established. In relation to the supervised subjects, the main issues are identified, the verification of which should be organized by the officials of the prosecutor’s office in the implementation of supervisory activities. Materials and methods: the normative basis of the study was the norms of international law, as well as the norms of the domestic legislation of the Russian Federation. The methodological basis of the study was the general dialectical method of scientific knowledge, as well as methods of logical deduction, cognitive methods and techniques of analysis, comparison, generalization and description. The results of the study allowed us to identify the main issues and effective forms of organization and implementation of prosecutor’s supervision over the implementation of legislation on the prevention of neglect and juvenile delinquency. Findings and Conclusions: the article analyses the current legislation, issues and forms of organization of Prosecutor’s supervision over execution of the legislation on the prevention of child neglect and juvenile delinquency has identified the significance and effectiveness of the prosecution authorities in the sphere of protection of rights and legitimate interests of minors.
