Commercial fishery in the context of the expansion of protected natural areas in the Archangel region

Commercial fishery is an important element of the socio-economic development of the territory. Fishery is the source of income and well-being of the local population in many coastal settlements. The fish stocks is the basis of fishery. The conservation of fish resources is one of the tasks of protected natural areas. Analysis of the development of commercial fishery in the context of expanding of protected natural areas in the Arkhangelsk region is the aim of the research. The expansion of territories with significant restrictions on the implementation of industrial fishing leads to conflict situations between state institutions and environmental organizations, on the one hand, local residents and economic entities, on the other hand.
