Industrial tourism as a driver of socioeconomic development of regions

This study is devoted to the impact of the industrial tourism development on the socio- economic regional situation. The modern economy is actively looking for new sources of growth and mechanisms to improve the quality of population life. The authors note in the paper that industrial tourism is becoming one of the promising areas – a type of tourism associated with visits to industrial enterprises, scientific centers, historical industries and technical facilities. The authors emphasize that this trend is gaining popularity due to the possibility of combining educational goals, cultural heritage and economic benefits of the region. They also provide recommendations on the effective development of industrial tourism in the Russian regions. They propose specific measures of industry support, such as the creation of specialized tourist routes, the introduction of educational programs for service sector workers, the formation of a favorable investment climate, support for small businesses and the development of brand events on a regional scale.
