The article is concerned with the problem of Trinity Pechengsk monastery economic development in the XVI-XVII centuries. The monastery was located on the Murmansk coast. For several centuries the coast was known as a place of fishing activities’ enhancement, which involved farmers and monasteries of Pomorie. The study identified three stages of the Barents Sea monasteries’ economic development. The first stage (the middle of the XVI century - 1575) - establishment of ownership on the coast of the Varanger fjord. The second stage (1575 - the end of the 1580’s.) - establishment of ownership on the coast of the Motovsky fjord. The third stage (the first half of the XVII century) - establishment of ownership on the east of the Murmansk coast. The monastery’s properties located on the Murmansk coast were mainly formed due to multiple gifts and purchases from the Saami population and the townspeople of the Kola fortress. The Tsar Charters of 1575, 1589 and 1591 successfully secured vast ownership of the monastery on the coasts of Varanger and Motovsky fjords.
